In Södertälje Municipality there is a wide choice of education and recreational alternatives for 6–16 year-olds. There are both municipal elementary schools and private independent schools. Youth clubs before and after school hours are also available.

Parents and students can get involved in the school's development by being on the local school boards that exist in all elementary schools.
