Description

In the area there are seashore meadows, pastures, arables and a stream ravine. The forested parts contain primary rock pine forest and virgin spruce forest. In the central part of the reserve rises a 50 metres high and very steep mountain ridge, with the flatlands in the west and the Stavbofjärden bay in the south. Below the mountain the Skillebyån stream meanders as if it was deeply carved into the fine-grained sediment. Along the sides of the stream grows a leafy tree curtain. By the seashores there are grazed meadows and further from the water the shoreline meadows merge into drier open pastures where the hoary plantain grows.

Accessibility

There is bus service to the area and the bus stop is by the old E4 road. Information boards have been placed near the bus stop at the parking area by the boat club. There is a private road through the nature reserve and it ends at Eneby boat club. Passages have been made through the fencing so that the pastures and the bath place on the cape are easily accessible.

The purpose of the reserve:

To preserve a valuable nature- and walking area. Another purpose is to secure cultivation in pastures and on shoreline meadows and to make the most easily disturbed biotopes more accessible for recreation.
